Error messages explained
Saw a number like 404 or 429? Find it below to see what it means, when it happens and what you can check yourself.
No connection to the server
Your browser could not reach MasterGames at all, so nothing came back.
When
- Your internet or Wi-Fi dropped
- The server is restarting or switched off (local: php artisan serve is not running)
- A firewall, VPN or ad blocker stopped the request

- Open another website to test your internet
- Reload the page in a few seconds
- Turn off the VPN / ad blocker for this site

This needs you to be signed in, and the server does not see a valid sign-in.

- You are signed out
- Your sign-in expired or was ended on another device
- Cookies / site data were cleared

- The page or record was moved or deleted
- A feature is switched off by the admin

- Check the address for typos
- Use search or the menu to find it

Page expired
The security token of this page is too old.
When
- The page was open for a long time before you pressed the button
- You signed out in another tab
Check
- Reload the page, then do it again
Some details need fixing
The server checked what you sent and something is missing or not right.
When
- A required field is empty
- A number, date or mobile is in the wrong format
- A value is already used (for example the same mobile)
Check
- Read the message next to the field
- Fix it and save again
Too many requests
Too many requests came from your connection in a short time, so the server asked us to slow down for a minute.
When
- Pressing a button again and again
- Many tabs of the site open together
- Sending many OTP codes
Check
- Wait about one minute, then try again
- Close extra tabs of the site
File is too big
The file is larger than the server accepts.
When
- Uploading a large photo, video or PDF
Check
- Compress the file or pick a smaller one
- Admins: raise upload_max_filesize and post_max_size in php.ini
That took too long
The server did not answer in time.
When
- A slow or unstable connection
- A very large upload or export
Check
- Try again on a better connection
- Use smaller files or narrower filters
Something broke on our side
The server hit an unexpected problem while doing this. It is not your fault.
When
- A bug in the latest update
- A missing database update (admin needs to run php artisan migrate)
- A setting or key is wrong
Check
- Try again in a minute
- If it repeats, tell the federation with the time and what you did
- Admins: run php artisan mg:doctor and check System health
Server is not responding
The website could not get an answer from the server behind it.
When
- The server is restarting after an update
- The server is overloaded
Check
- Wait a minute and reload
Down for maintenance
The site is being updated and will be back shortly.
When
- A planned update or backup is running
Check
- Please come back in a few minutes
This page hit a problem
Something in this page failed while showing it. Your data is safe.
When
- A part of the page received data it did not expect
- An old copy of the site is cached in your browser
